Can i change races in skyrim

Well you can! It's flawless and easy! And I'm not actually sure if this is common knowledge or not since I can't find it posted anywhere else on the interwebs. Since I sorta figured it out all on my own through toying with the system enough A perfect Race Change!

Why wouldn't a Nord make a good Battle mage? Most of the spell casters in Skyrim shell out frost magic, so your racial resistance will benefit you greatly. A Nord can cast magic just as well as a Breton, I really see no need to change your race outside of Rp preference but even then it doesn't really make much sense to change race. I changed my race once like that, through the console. Whole hosts of issues later. Hmmm, I have to say I wasn't aware of the issues involved with using the showracemenu.

If you're a spellsword-type character you don't really need all 5 schools. Alteration can give you a bit more armor, but if you have heavy not necessary. Conjuration can be used to summon your own weapons as summoning a atronach or other is less useful can't really go wrong with a dremora lord though with you being on the front lines.
