The truth is that every bit of technology has a limited lifespan. Back in the 90's, the Communicator must have looked super cool and futuristic, like a Tesla Roadster parked next to a Ford Taurus.

It is the product of Nokia having a vision for the future of mobile tech — a future where the internet was in people's pockets and enabled them to communicate in new and exciting ways. Clearly, Nokia had the will and resources to experiment in the field. And I don't think that I can stress this enough: the Nokia i's set of features may seem laughable today, but in its time, it was at the cutting edge of technology. While the is iconic, it's a 16 years old "dumb" phone, which means that it's not really all that much use to today's tech-savvy crowd.

It was launched in This was the first smartphone Communicator. The i was released in It was the first Communicator I ever owned. Like its predecessor, it also ran Symbian OS Series 80, the version of Symbian that was designed specifically with the Communicator in mind.

The also had Bluetooth, camera and WiFi. I owned a Launched in , the Nokia E90 was the last true Nokia Communicator.

It ran Symbian OS Series Nokia had discontinued Series 80 for the more popular Series Many of us Communicator fans griped and complained about how Series 60 made the E90 feel watered-down from traditional Communicators. But it was a great device still. I so loved the E90 that I ended up purchasing it twice.
